Week 1 Streaming Defense – Fantasy Football

If you’re the guy who didn’t pick a top notch defense to roll with week in & week out, then the defenses below are exactly what the fantasy gods have provided for you. Of course we aren’t suggesting top DST’s here, these are the defenses who can surprise due to match-ups. Each week you will be picking up a new defense & each week we will be here to help you.

Week 1 DST Streamers

New York GiantsDallas Cowboys9/11 at 4:25pm EST
Los Angeles RamsSan Francisco 49ers9/12 at 10:20pm EST

You are probably asking yourself right now, “OK…so why should I choose from one of these 3 DST’s to stream in Week 1?”. Well, you couldn’t have asked a better question, let me explain why the 3 DST’s above are your best streaming options in Week 1.

Minnesota Vikings: They just lost T. Bridgewater for the year & possibly longer, so I believe the Vikings will come out guns blazing in honor of Bridgewater’s lost season. Without him they really need the defense to step up, especially since they are facing a young QB who had his share of rookie mistakes last season. I know…I know…the Titans are about to go all “Exotic Smashmouth” on the Vikings, right? It’s Week 1 and they’ll have some wrinkles to iron out before this offense gets in full swing. The Vikings may not be a powerhouse defense, but they’re lucky enough to draw the Titans in Week 1 and so should you!

New York Giants: Dez Bryant? Here! Ezekiel Elliot? Present! Tony Romo? Tony…Romo? Romo Tony? AGHHH! Not this again! Yes it’s true folks, once again we are talking about a Cowboys offense who is once again Tony-less. Which means rookie QB Dak Prescott who just LIT the preseason on fire is the #1 guy in Dallas while Tony heals up. While Dak crushed the preseason, this is Week 1 and things get a little different when the games start to count. I expect a sneaky Giants defense to force Dak into some errors this week and prove themselves worthy of being a DST streamer for Week 1.

Los Angeles Rams: New city, new faces, new stadium to call home. Sure some names have changed along the defense of the Rams, but honestly, when a defense has Aaron Donald manning the front line, you’ll get sacked if you don’t put some respek on their name. The Rams have plenty of playmakers on defense and they really balled out last season for owners who took a shot on them. This year fantasy football GM’s aren’t in love with the Rams, so in many drafts they weren’t selected. That’s OK, because you get to stream them this week against a 49ers offense with a new head coach. Many are assuming coach gets these boys rolling straight out the gate, but I’d take my chances that the Rams defense can at least shake them up a little bit & return some decent DST streamer value to you.
