NFL Split 10

(Top 5 – Bottom 5)

Week 12 – 2016

Written By: Eddie Cepeda (@eddiecee23)

WIDE LEFT!!!!! Or right, you had 12 different instances to choose from. Each week we get closer and closer to completely abolishing all kicking from the NFL. So, who’s the lucky fantasy football player out there that lost by less than one point because his kicker couldn’t make an extra point? Taking all submissions of angry fan mail in the comments below! Sunday was a record setting day that I’m sure the NFL and all people who use one foot to make a living are eager to move on from.

Speaking of moving on, how quickly do the Texans want Thanksgiving to be here? Then we can all stop talking about how lucky they are to be playing in the AFC South. Well, until they play again that is. Then we all start making fun of them all over again. Houston, Mexican lasers are the least of your problems this year. How about the object the laser was pointed at? For what seems like the tenth time out of as many games, Osweiler gives us another reason to mock the massive contract he signed over the offseason. One thing you can’t mock is, LAST WEEK’S SPLIT 10.
Top 5
  1. Dallas Cowboys
  2. New England Patriots
  3. Seattle Seahawks
  4. Oakland Raiders
  5. Denver Broncos
Bottom 5
  1. Chicago Bears
  2. San Francisco 49ers
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars
  4. New York Jets
  5. Cleveland Browns

This is the first week all season that, excluding bye teams, all Top 5 teams won while all Bottom 5 teams lost. Those stupid Jets, they can’t even be around to do their job and lose to make my week perfect! Oh well, onto week 12 it is.
Top 5
NFL Split 10 dak prescott
  1. Dallas Cowboys 9-1
Yet another impressive win for the Cowboys. Dak threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns while Zeke goes for almost 100 yards on the ground. Whoops, forgot to mention this was against one of the best defenses in the league. The Cowboys victory over Baltimore makes it tough for the rest of us to doubt that they’re for real. If they don’t finish the season as the top seed, it’s hard to imagine they won’t at least have a first round bye.
  2. Seattle Seahawks 7-2-1
After a slow start and injury battles in key positions, the Seahawks seem to have hit their usual second half of the season stride. In a decisive win over the Eagles, the Seahawks showed why they are to be considered a top contender every season. Seattle ended the game with the leaders in passing, rushing, and receiving all coming from their team. If anybody poses a threat to a young Cowboys squad, it’s Seattle.
  3. New England Patriots 8-2
New England improves to 8-2, but somehow they left something to be desired. Against a team like the 49ers, the Patriots should have rolled from start to finish. However, San Francisco competed for the whole first half. There seemed to be a little bit of sputtering on the defensive end for New England. Still, a win is a win and New England has eight of them. The AFC better watch out, Tom Brady and Belichick are as hard to beat as it gets when they have home-field during the playoffs.
  4. Oakland Raiders 8-2
THEY’RE THE FIRST SEED IN THE AFC, HOW CAN THEY ONLY BE NUMBER FOUR?” Simply put, the defense still scares me at times. Aside from that there is no doubting the potency of the Raiders offense, especially late in games. If the Raiders keep pace, their first playoff berth in over a decade will come complete with a bye week.
  5. Denver Broncos 7-3
Coming off a bye week and regaining their best defensive talent from injury, Denver looks to make a late season run. They’ll be tested early when they face off Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver finds themselves playing from behind and in need of help if their goal is to regain the division lead. The biggest hole for this team remains their offensive line, who will have to escalate their play in order to keep Trevor Siemian safe.

Outside looking in:

Atlanta Falcons – After going into their bye week with a loss, the Falcons will have to rebound in a big way. The Cardinals present an opportunistic matchup for them to do so.
Kansas City Chiefs – The Chiefs had a surprising loss at home against the Bucs. Their next game is no easier as the face a Broncos team that is healthier now coming off a bye week.
New York Giants – The Giants are rolling. After handling the Bears, they now move on to face the Browns. We can all but pencil them in for a win.
Bottom 5
nfl power rankings split 10
  1. Jacksonville Jaguars 2-8
Congratulations Jags fans, you moved up to the top of the worst teams! Don’t get excited, Jacksonville was just as bad this week as they have been in other weeks. The move up comes from the all around awfulness of all the other Bottom 5 teams. Jacksonville has quite a coaching decision to make once the offseason gets here, maybe even before.
  2. San Francisco 49ers 1-9
Nobody was surprised by Sunday’s result right? I think the only surprise was how close this game was in the first half. Either way, even one of the 49ers better performances of the year resulted in a 10-point deficit by the end of the game.
  3. New York Jets 3-7
Anybody think the bye week will do anything to get Bryce Petty ready?……… Me neither. The Jets better start evaluating their draft picks early this year. This team is going nowhere
  4. Chicago Bears 2-8
Jay Cutler is now believed to be out for the season. If they haven’t already, it’s time for Chicago to throw in the white towel. Yet another franchise who will be looking to shake things up in the offseason. The Bears are staring down the barrel of a long period of mediocrity
  5. Cleveland Browns 0-11
Just one. Just one win guys. Hugh Jackson deserves better than this. I guess in the curse of Cleveland sports, one of their teams had to pay for a championship coming to the city. Cleveland continues to roll down hill in the direction of a defeated season. Do us proud boys, end the losing streak.

In danger of falling:

Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals are finding ways to lose the close games they were pulling out last year. The future does not look great for quarterback Carson Palmer.
Cincinnati Bengals – The loss comes with two major injuries to A.J. Green and Giovanni Bernard. Time without Green will show just how many of Andy Dalton’s mistakes he covers.
Los Angeles Rams – Five minutes, that’s all the Rams needed to finish this one with a win. If the Rams front office is smart, Jeff Fisher will need to start updating his resume pretty soon. Quick tip Jeff, avoid all of your tenure as the Rams’ Head Coach while updating.
