4 Tires & Fuel – NASCAR DFS Southern 500

It sure is good to back after a week off, this week we will head to Darlington raceway. Darlington, is an egg shaped oval track with really narrow straightaways and tight corners, it is one of the most prestigious races of the year and for drivers who want to make the chase will need to step there game up as there is only 2 races remaining to do so. This week you will see throwback paint schemes to pay tribute to former drivers and sponsors, it is a really fun event and all of us NASCAR fans truly enjoy. Darlington Raceway is known as the Lady in Black, remember the tight corners I was talking about earlier? As the race will progress you will notices the wall turning black as cars will earn what is called the “Darlington Stripe” we will see drivers bring out their best to want to win this race. We have had a week off to regather, refocus and let’s hope our drivers don’t earn there “Darlington Stripe”. Typically we want to target two dominators, 2-3 place differential plays, and 1 solid value play. Now, let’s jump into my favorite plays this week and win some money.

Top Tier – Cash & GPP

Kyle Busch – ($10,600)

He posted the fastest time in happy hour, qualified 3rd, and is the hottest driver in the sport right now after his sweep at Bristol. Kyle Busch ranks 1st in average quality passes, 1st in average fastest laps, and 1st in average laps led. I just want to remind everyone that 2 weeks ago this guy won the truck race, Xfinity race, and the cup race all in the same weekend. I love Kyle Busch as a dominator this weekend.

Kevin Harvick – ($9,700)

He had an excellent 3 rounds of qualifying, has a really fast car and he will start on the pole. The first pit stall is extremely important at the Lady in Black. He ranks 7th in average quality passes, 2nd in average fastest laps, and 3rd in average fastest laps. He has had a lot of success here in the last couple years, including a win here in 2014. Lock and load Kevin Harvick.

Mid-Tier GPP

Jimmie Johnson – ($9,100)

Jimmie had a terrible last round of qualifying, but does Jimmie ever qualify well? Sometimes. Jimmie ranks 6th in average quality passes, 5th in average fastest laps, and 4th in average laps led. Jimmie will start 18th and will make for a solid place differential play.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – ($7,600)

I know, I know. He has had a terrible year so far and his luck has been terrible. But, this week I am getting on board I predict that he will have a good run here at the Lady in Black. He ranks 5th in average quality passes, and he starts 22nd. He will also make for a solid place differential play.

Dark Horse GPP

Kasey Kahne –  ($7,500)

It has already been announced that William Byron will replace Kasey at the start of 2018 season, Kahne has really struggled the last couple seasons. But, he Runs well here at the Lady in Black also. He ranks 10th in average quality passes, he will start 23rd. He ranks 4th in average fastest laps, and 6th in average laps led. We are looking at Kahne this week as a great place differential this week, the dirt trackers seem to perform well here.

Landon Cassill – ($5,400)

Now, we’re not going to find any stats where Casill ranks is any of the stats that other drivers that I have mentioned. But, that’s ok all we are looking for Cassill to advance a couple positions and finish the race.
