We have a slight change to the weekly must start & must sit articles. Moving forward both the must starts & must sits will be on the same page so don’t go looking for a 2nd article, you’ve found them both in one place. We are also adjusting the article to be more geared towards sleeper players we feel you must start and high profile names you must sit. All over the internet you will find articles with the obvious guys you must start/sit, here at Clock Dodgers you are going to find weekly sleepers who we recommend you start and the big name guys you must sit. We feel this will benefit our readers more, therefore that’s how we will proceed.
Last week’s must start/sit we’re hit and miss in terms of the accuracy we strive for so for the Week 9 Must Start/Sit we have refocused our aim and are looking to be more accurate with our picks.
After last week, rosters across the leagues are injury riddled and filled with bye week players. We are getting closer to the fantasy playoffs so each win becomes more & more vital. Below are 3 players that you must start or sit within your lineups for Week 9.
A Wise Man Once Said: “Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought.“
Week 9 Must Start Players
Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers
The rookie is a sneaky play this week. He gets his shot at a defense that made Drew Brees look like his old self. Winston has been fairly consistent the last few weeks and if he can continue that pattern that he should be a good play vs the Giants. Don’t expect Brees-like numbers but surely you can expect him to get you through a tough bye week.
LeGarrette Blount, RB, Patriots
I expect Blount & Lewis both to have their way against a Redskins defense that hasn’t been able to stop a RB since early in the season. This is the type of defense that will allow enough running room for both of the Patriot backs to have success. Look for Blount to pile on the points late in the game when the Redskins defense doesn’t have enough fight left in them and the Patriots are attempting to grind them down.
Stevie Johnson, WR, Chargers
Keenan Allen is out for the season and although Malcom Floyd & Inman will receive more targets, I believe Johnson is the one who slides into Allen’s role more nicely. Johnson is talented & can make the big plays so add him to your team and feel good starting him in Week 9 as Rivers is once again likely to throw the ball more and more.
Week 9 Must Sit Players
Peyton Manning, QB, Broncos
Many are back on the Manning wagon after his performance last week but how he looked and his fantasy numbers are two different things. Check his point total last week and you’ll realize the results were not good. You have to find an alternate option in Week 9 and likely the remainder of the season. Manning just isn’t good anymore and we have to learn to move on.
Eddie Lacy, RB, Packers
Bad, bad, bad. Overweight, hurt ankle and his backup outplaying him. Eddie Lacy did this last season where he turned the gears on late but is he going to do that again? Sit him this week and see how this thing plays itself out. You cannot afford to keep starting Lacy is he continues to not perform. We are in the thick of the playoff race & you don’t want a guy like Lacy to cost you.
TY Hilton, WR, Colts
Hilton is dealing with injuries and has had a real up and down season. He faces a Denver defense this week that has been very stingy with WR’s. I expect Luck to have a rough day along with his WR’s against Denver. You may be forced to start Hilton due to bye week and injuries but keep your expectations limited.
