Last week’s Must Sit column was beneficial to your lineups if you followed along. Both CJ Anderson & Maclin had poor scoring weeks and Cam wasn’t great either. We like to be critical of ourselves here at Clock Dodgers so that way we are providing you with the gold standard of information and advice. With that being said, although Cam wasn’t great last week, he also wasn’t’ miserable. Therefore, we will rate ourselves 2/3 for Week 6 Must Sit recommendations.
With our Week 7 Must Sit trio we understand that there are a lot of bye week players this week so you may be forced to play someone from the list below. We also understand that your specific current roster situation could force you to play one also. That’s fine, we just recommend against these players if possible. Per the usual, we don’t like to name the obvious must sit players so we tend to give names less often mentioned when at all possible. These players can be avoided in both standard fantasy leagues and in DFS contest.
Sam Bradford, QB, Eagles
Many had high hopes for Bradford coming into the season and you can count me as one of them as my preseason rankings showed. He’s had his ups & his downs this season so the potential fantasy points I imagined is correct, just not consistent. In Week 7 Bradford runs into a Carolina defense that has been pretty stout overall. I don’t think this will be a great week for the Eagles offense in general and as the leader of said offense, Bradford must sit.
Melvin Gordon, RB, Chargers
Gordon has some strong supporters, and after a college season like he had, it’s understandable. Unfortunately for Gordon, his pro career didn’t start off where he left off in college. He’s showed potential and flashes but nothing that has me sold on top level RB fantasy talent. It doesn’t help Gordon when there is a guy like Woodhead who the Chargers love just eating into his production. Gordon goes up against an underrated Raiders run defense on Sunday that I just don’t see him faring well with. This is Week 7 Must Sits, welcome Melvin Gordon.
Jordan Matthews, WR, Eagles
His QB is on the Week 7 Must Sit list, which doesn’t always doom a WR, but for Matthews in Week 7 it will. Matthews has had a slow start to the season where many touted him as a #1 fantasy WR. I again must admit, I was high on the idea of the Bradford/Matthews connection that we are so helplessly searching for. I have made it a weekly ritual to avoid whichever WR is given the impossible task of putting up with Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman. In Week 7, the honor goes to Jordan Matthews which firmly plants him on the bench in the Week 7 Must Sit list.
