I like to see how I did on the previous weeks Top 3 Must Start before I dive into the current weeks list. Last week I advised that Dion Lewis, Sam Bradford and Kamar Aiken were must starts. Dion Lewis played great, whether you were starting him in PPR or Standard. It has become very clear that Lewis is an important part of the Patriots offense and will continue to be regardless of whether Blount is there or not. Going forward, their is no reason to have Lewis out of your lineup as he is highly likely to perform well each week.
Sam Bradford was my 2nd Week 5 Must Start and he played well also. Bradford had his 2nd best game of the season and continues to look like he’s finding a rhythm in Chip’s offense. Bradford should get better as the season goes on and may find himself on the must start list again.
My last pick for the must start list was Kamar Aiken, and here is where I could of done better. Aiken did ok, but not good enough to be a must start. The opportunity was there for more points but it never materialized. Lets hope the WR on the Week 6 Must Start list does better then the Week 5 play.
Blake Bortles, QB, Jaguars
Bortles may be on many sleeper list this week but I’m going a step further. Minus week 1 Bortles hasn’t had a bad week. Last week he was great and although it was against the Bucs, the Texans pass defense isn’t much to write home about. The Texans were beat by Hassellback, in 2015, at 40 years old, let that sink in. Bortles WR’s have come to life and they have some bodies at RB who are able to move the ball. Julius Thomas returned last week for whatever that may be worth at this point. Start Bortles with confidence this week.
LeGarrett Blount, RB, Patriots
Last week Patriots RB Dion Lewis made the list, this week its the other Patriots RB. Blount’s history with the Patriots vs the Colts is full of TD’s galore and I see a repeat occurring this Sunday. The Colts wont be able to stop the Patriots as they move the ball at will and Blount will be the goal line beneficiary. I actually think both Lewis and Blount are going to have good games so they are both Week 6 Must Starts but only Blount gets the honor of being on the list this week.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Broncos
Sanders has a bad QB, this is a sad fact. Yes, his QB is Manning, but the name doesn’t change that his game has fallen off hard. The reason Sanders still makes this list is because Manning needs him in order for the Broncos to succeed. Sanders runs the short routes and slot routes that Manning can still make. Sanders has done well up until now and even though Manning is struggling he will still manage to get the points you need to get a win this week.
